Privacy Policy

Our promise, in plain words

AI Kids Lab exists to help children meet AI with curiosity and confidence, and to help parents feel equipped to guide them. That work depends on trust, and trust is earned by what families actually experience, not by what we claim. So here is our promise before the detail:

• We collect only what we need: a parent’s name and email address, and any message you choose to send us.
• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we never ask children to share personal details.
• We never sell or rent your information.
• You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time, with one click.
• If you have a question about your information, a real person will answer it.

1. Who we are

AI Kids Lab (aikidslab.ca) is a brand of Alipib Digital Concepts Ltd., a company incorporated in Alberta, Canada. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Alipib Digital Concepts Ltd., operating as AI Kids Lab.

We follow Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies, and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Because our content is made for children, we also follow the spirit of the United States Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA): children do not give us their information.

2. Children’s privacy

Our videos, projects and activities are designed for children aged 5 to 15 to enjoy, ideally alongside a parent or trusted adult. Our forms, however, are for adults only.

• The Future Builders Club signup and our contact form are for parents, guardians and other adults aged 18 or over.
• We never ask for a child’s name, age, school, photo, location or any other detail about a child.
• Children do not create accounts on our website.
• If we learn that a child has sent us personal information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe this has happened, please write to [email protected] and we will act on it.

We also teach children, through BYTE and our content, not to share personal details with AI tools or online strangers. We hold ourselves to the same standard.

3. What we collect

• When you join the Future Builders Club: your name, your email address, and a record of your consent (the date and time you joined and confirmed your subscription).
• When you use our contact form: your name, email address, the subject and the message you write.
• When you reply to one of our emails: your email address and whatever you choose to write.
• When you visit the website: our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure. Our website uses no analytics tools, no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels. Our hosting platform may use small technical cookies that the site needs in order to work.

We do not collect payment information on this website.

4. How we use your information

We use your information only for the purposes you would expect:

• to send you The Parent’s Starter Guide to AI and the Future Builders Club emails you signed up for;
• to reply to your messages and questions;
• to keep our website and email systems working and secure; and
• to meet our legal obligations, for example keeping a record of your consent and of any unsubscribe request.

If we ever want to use your information for a new purpose, we will ask you first.

5. Consent and our emails

We only email people who have asked to hear from us. When you join the Future Builders Club, you tick a box to agree to receive our emails, and you confirm your address by clicking a link we send you. We keep a record of that consent.

Every email we send identifies AI Kids Lab and Alipib Digital Concepts Ltd., includes our mailing address, and contains an unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending promptly, and always within 10 business days as the law requires. You can also withdraw your consent at any time by writing to [email protected].

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run AI Kids Lab, and only as much as they need to do that job:

• MailerLite – stores our subscriber list and sends our emails.
• Abacus.AI – hosts our website and stores website form submissions.
• Google (Gmail) – receives the emails and replies sent to [email protected].

These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. When information is held in another country, it is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessed by its courts or authorities. We choose reputable providers and use their security features to protect your information.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

7. How long we keep it

• Future Builders Club: for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address and the date you unsubscribed, so that we can respect your choice and never email you again by mistake.
• Contact form messages and email replies: for up to 24 months, unless we need them longer to finish helping you, and then we delete them.

8. How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including secure, password-protected accounts with our providers and access limited to the people who need it to run AI Kids Lab. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the responsibility seriously. If a breach ever created a real risk of significant harm to you, we would tell you and the relevant privacy regulator, as the law requires.

9. Your choices and rights

You can, at any time:

• ask what personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct it;
• ask us to delete it; and
• withdraw your consent to receive our emails.

11. Concerns and complaints

If you have a concern, please contact us first; we would like the chance to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (https://oipc.ab.ca) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (https://www.priv.gc.ca).

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as AI Kids Lab grows. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will also tell Future Builders Club members by email before it takes effect.
